Our Staff

Pastor Schoettle was saved at an early age after his Sunday School teacher described the eternal consequences of sin. At age 30, while working as an actuarial consultant, he was called to preach and began educational and practical training while serving in his home church in Holland, Michigan. In 2015, he was called to pastor a church in Elwood, Indiana where he served for 8 years.

In June of 2024, he was called to become Pastor of Capital City Baptist Church where he currently serves. He and his wife Sarah have eleven children who join them in actively serving Christ. Pastor Schoettle also serves on the staff of Indiana Baptist College.

Max grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of 5 after being impressed with a sense of his own sin and need for a Savoir. He graduated from Purdue Univeristy in 2018 with a BS in Electical Engineering. He started work as an engineer completed an online seminary degreee before God called him to pursue further seminary education and enter ministry full time.

Max interned with Capital City Baptist May-August 2025 and has been on staff here full time since May 2026.
